What does it mean to be healthy?

How many of us even know what it feels like to be healthy? First you have to know what the state of health is supposed to be, and what it's NOT supposed to be. It's not supposed to be feeling tired all of the time, or even most of the time, or even a lot of the time. If your body is healthy and in balance, you won't feel fatigued, you'll sleep well and wake feeling rested. You'll have the energy to get through your day, you'll have the mental clarity to solve the problems and handle the stresses that pop up during your day. You'll be in a good mood because your body feels good. You'll be more active because you feel good enough to want to be more active. You won't get sick very often, and when you do get sick, it won't last as long or be as severe. Your hair will shine and have luster, your nails will be strong and smooth, your eyes bright. Can you even imagine what it must be like to feel this way?

Not many of us can. That's because we've become accustomed to feeling under par so often, that it seems normal. It's not normal. We've gotten used to coming home at the end of the day, and plopping down in front of the tv and letting our brains turn to mush for the night while feeling like we've been run over by a truck. This is not normal.

What can we do to change this? There are lots of things, but it starts with some very basic principles. Eat a good, clean diet, drink plenty of clean pure water, breathe clean air, get enough exercise, and avoid the pitfalls that so commonly entrap most of us.

In this site you'll find information on maintaining a healthy diet, information on exercise, how to maintain a healthier pregnancy, and the pitfalls to avoid.

Our own physical body possesses a wisdom which we who inhabit the body lack.  We give it orders which make no sense.
