What is a "healthy" diet?

A healthy diet starts with a good food source. Sounds simple doesn't it? It is, and it isn't. It's simple to do if you're willing to forego some of the things you're used to that are harming your health. It's not simple if clutching tightly to the tastes you're used to no matter what is more important to you than being healthy. If you're not willing to give up certain chemicals in your diet, none of the information you find here is going to do you much good. The foundation must be strong if you're going to build a healthy body.

Let's define healthy. Health is food that is grown without the use of chemicals as much as possible, especially organophosphates found in most fertilizers and pesticides. Get organically grown produce as much as possible. Any food you find that is processed, meaning not in it's whole and natural state is going to have far fewer health benefits for you, and most can actually work toward weakening your health. Look for foods that arent processed, that means anything in a box, bag, can, etc. Those are processed foods. Those contain chemicals that are harmful to you.

Food preparation is also important. If you're overcooking your food to death, so that it is lifeless and limp, you're cooking out all the nutrients. Steam your vegetables rather than boil them. Bake your meat rather than frying it. Use whole grains in your bread rather than the nutrient deficient white flours.

Check the PITFALLS page for lists of chemicals to avoid.
