What is Natural Health?

There are a vast many differences between allopathic (conventional) doctors and naturopaths or holistic health practitioners. Conventional medicine treats the body as a conglomeration of different parts and treats each part separately and usually only treats you after there is a problem already happening in the body.

Naturopathy recognizes that every part of your body is connected and working together. Therefore in natural healing you treat the whole body together not just cut out a diseased part, or give a drug that will suppress the symptoms while damaging other parts of your system. Also there is an emphasis on prevention because it is easier to stay healthy than it is to treat disease.

Natural remedies are non-toxic and won't harm you while actually eradicating the cause of your illness, not just push your symptoms further in as most conventional drugs do. Diet and nutrition play a huge role in natural healing, while most allopathic doctors will tell you it doesn't matter what you eat, drink, or otherwise ingest. Natural medicine recognizes the importance of cleansing out stored chemicals and toxins, or detoxing the system, so that the stored toxins won't cause illness or disease. Conventional medicine doesn't see this as a viable treatment.

The testing done for diagnosis in allopathic medicine is oftentimes harmful, painful, or damaging, and sometimes unreliable. Testing done by naturopaths is usually painless, completely non damaging, and usually more reliable. Tests such as hair analysis to determine malnutrition and toxic content in the body, saliva and urine analysis to determine body's nutritional needs, and live field blood analysis to determine condition of the blood. (note: not all naturopaths perform all these tests. Most conditions can be told by doing an in-depth analysis of symptoms by a practitioner experienced in symptomology.)

In my opinion, there are situations where an allopath is needed. These include:

  • Emergencey Medical Care
  • Emergency and Reconstructive Surgery
  • Diagnosis in certain instances, not all
  • Blood tests in certain instances, not all

When faced especially with the emergency situations, you simply can't beat a good ER doc!!
