Pitfalls that can trip you up:So what are those things that trip us up and keep us from achieving and maintaining perfect health? They are many, but are fairly easy to avoid if you just pay attention and are willing to do what it takes. Chemical additives in food. These are many, and when you first start watching for them it seems like there's nothing out there that you can eat! But trust me, once you're in the habit of avoiding most of these, and you notice how much better you look and feel, it will all be worth it. MSG (monosodium glutamate) - one of the worst. It's an excitotoxin that stimulates the hunger centers of the brain so that you still feel hungry after eating. Every wonder why you can't eat just one? Check that bag of chips, if they are flavored, you can bet they contain MSG. Why are you hungry again an hour after eating Chinese take out? MSG content in most chinese restraunt food is really high. MSG is actually a natural substance, derived from seaweed, but the harm it causes to the body makes it one of the more deadly of the food additives. Aspartame (NutraSweet) - artificial sweetener linked to illnesses such as fibromyalgia, parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, lupus, etc. This doesn't mean it definitively causes these illnesses, but just that there is a link with aspartame ingestion.
